The 2010, 2011 and 2012 triennium represented a period of discussion and reflections about the course directions. We can highlight that in 2011 they were realized various meetings between teachers and students for the actions evaluation and guidance, considering the suggestions sent by the Capes Half Committee from the Interdisciplinary Area of the Environment and Agricultural Chamber.

Until this period, the program worked with two main areas, each one with two research lines, as which:

  1. Environment and Biodiversity Conservation (Biodiversity, Culture and Environment).
  2. Environment and Development (Hydric Resources; Environment Impacts and Sustainable Alternatives).

From the analysis, they suggested the following reported changes, which they implemented gradually from 2012. The concentration areas and research lines got together in a single area named Environment Science, with two research lines:

  1. Biodiversity and Natural Resources (substituting to the Biodiversity and Hydric Resources lines).
  2. Nature, Culture and Society (substituting to the Environmental Impacts, Sustainable Alternatives and Culture and Environment lines).

The modifications that have been doing gave a guidance for the researches and the program activities focus, improving their identity.

In 2012 the program received a visit from Capes, where were discussed the master’s migration possibility to the Environment Sciences Chamber Evaluation Half Committee. During and after the visit, the proposing were discussed in various opportunities, with the collegiate participation, approved by them and by the Capes, because the program’s profile has greater adherence to this chamber. Even with the program’s modification to the Environment Sciences Chamber, there still were discussed by the collegiate maintaining the field of the program, which was kept as Environment Sciences.

This decision covers the requirements for the environment issues discussion. In the same visit, the Capes representatives made more suggestions, contributing to the program’s proposing, among the latent discussions in consequence of the collegiate maturation along the years.
